Lubbock Associationof Realtors award winners

Each year at our Installation and Awards Banquet, the association recognizes Realtor members that have given exemplary service to the Realtor Association. At the January 13, 2017 Installation and Awards Banquet at The Legacy Event Center, we recognized three Realtor members for their dedication to the association and the Realtor profession.

The association’s yearly award, REALTOR® of the Year, is awarded to a Realtor for recent, continuing, outstanding service to the association. The 2016 REALTOR® of the Year was awarded to Ken Harlan of The WestMark Companies. Harlan has been a REALTOR® member of the LAR for 14 years, and serves on many committees, including MLS Issues and Policies, Finance, and Governmental Affairs/TREPAC. Harlan chaired the MLS Issues and Policies Committee in 2007 and 2014. He is a graduate of the Texas REALTORS® Leadership Program (TRLP) and is a $1,000 Major Investor in TREPAC. Harlan also represents the LAR at the state level, serving on the Texas Association of REALTORS® MLS and Technology Committee and Professional Standards Committee. He is also appointed as a Texas Association of REALTORS® Director for 2017 to 2019. Harlan holds the professional designation – Graduate, REALTOR® Institute designation (GRI) and is recognized for his professionalism.

The association also celebrated two REALTOR® members with the Pinnacle Award. The Pinnacle Award is not a yearly award and is only given to REALTORS® who have dedicated many years of service to the real estate profession and especially, the LAR. Linda Gaither and Emily Ratcliff of The WestMark Companies were given the Pinnacle Award for their 20 plus years of service to the LAR and the Realtor Profession. They both hold the professional designations Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI). They are $1,000 Major Investors in TREPAC and members of the National Association of REALTORS® President’s Circle. They have served on more than ten LAR committees, subcommittees and task forces each and chaired more than five committees. They were both elected as President of the LAR, Gaither in 2005 and Ratcliff in 2001. Their service also extends to the Texas Association of REALTORS®. Gaither has served on TAR’s Legislative Liaison Program, Political Involvement Council, REALTOR® Legislative Network and State Representative Contact Team. Ratcliff served on TAR’s Convention Task Force, Legislative Committee, Nominating Committee, Professional Standards Committee and served as a TAR Director from 2002 to 2007.

We are so proud of these award recipients and for their commitment to the betterment of our association. I invite you to visit the LAR website, lubbockrealtors.com and Like us on Facebook at facebook.com/lubbockrealtors.
